SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT #1
***** SHOW TEAMS & INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS *****
~ Brand New Competition ~
PORTA POTTY DECORATING CONTEST
When turning in your completed Potty form you will be assigned a unit that your team will then decorate in any style you want. Inside and out. Create a walkway, or foyer, use velvet ropes.
Nothing permanent. No holes. No paint. No permanent markers.
You will also be given a collection container for donations.
Talking to the "temporary occupants" as they come and go,
leaving the donation container at the unit
or by passing your collection container through the crowd you will collect tips. The method is really up to you.
The contest ends Saturday at 5:00 p.m. with container turn in.
The team that turns in the most money
will win a custom-made (and really cool) trophy
(guaranteed to not be a toilet seat either!)
to commemorate this unique event.
I know...you're shaking your head trying to
wrap your mind around the idea....a picture says a thousand words:
I think these were done with sidewalk chalk.

Just cardboard and tape...
Suggested supplies to bring with you: Cardboard - big and small, scissors or box cutter, duct tape, streamers, flags, balloons, sticky glue dots, crepe paper, fabric, shower curtains, brown butcher paper, flowers, piped in music, plants, rugs, Canvas drop cloths....
truly - the list is limited only by your imagination.
This contest is for fun (and to help pay for the darn things), and
creativity and artistic ability is not nearly as important
as spirit and enthusiasim.
Remember - it must all be quickly and completely removable.
No nails, staples, permanent glue or paint or permanent markers.
First come, first served - there are only a certain number of potties.
Dwight Hamilton, Rockne, TX1st Place ChiliJust A Chili CookoffMay 23, 2009 This was our biggest and best warm-up cookoff yet! We want to extend a huge Thank You to all of the cooks that came out for this fledgling event. In spite of the short downpour at announcements, it was a tremendous success, and has helped us raise some of the desperately needed funds for next October's 39th Annual Tolbert Ladies State Chili Championship of Texas.
Boy! It's gonna be a doozie for sure!
See the full slide show on the JACC page.
And, for all of you that brought homemade baked goods, donated raffle items, played the Wheel of Fortune, donated to the Golfers' Mulligan's Trust Fund, and the generosity of the Texas Hold 'Em Gang - Smooches!

REVA WEATHERLY CANYON LAKE, TEXAS Texas Chili Queen 2008! Line Shack II Chili ************************************************Reva says she has been competing for about eight years. "I attribute my success to good friends and advisors in the chili world who were willing to take me under their wing and share their recipes and tips. There are many of those people, too numerous to mention but the ones that stand out are Honey Jones, Larry and Carrie Kinnison. My greastest attribute to my success would be my husbnad, Billy Bob, and my stick-to-itness and patience." ******************************************* All the stats are listed on Just the Facts.
